Edible Wild Plant Walk at Red Wagon Plants

Take a walk on the wild side, and become familiar with some of Vermont’s most common and prolific edible “weeds”. We’ll take a ramble around the Red Wagon Plants grounds in Hinesburg, noting the useful and nutritious plants that abound. You'll also learn about a number of healing herbs that grow all around us, and how to use them. We will end the workshop by sharing a delicious Wild Spring Green Salad harvested during our walk.

Please bring a bowl and fork!

Melanie Putz Brotz, teaches Wild Food Foraging classes and Practical Herbalism classes to students of all ages. Her offerings range from one-time plant walks to 6-week training Programs providing. She is a registered dietitian, nutrition educator, and community herbalist with 20 years of experience as a field guide for herbal studies in Vermont. Melanie is an avid wild foods enthusiast, and thoroughly enjoys sharing her plant knowledge with others.
