The Town of Moretown Selectboard would like to clarify Article #35 on the March 02, 2021 Town Meeting ballot. This was submitted to the Town with the required amount of signatures for an article to be placed on a ballot, Per Title 17 : Elections, Chapter 055 : Local Elections. Subchapter 002 : Town Meetings And Local Elections In General (Cite as: 17 V.S.A. § 2642) of the State of Vermont Statutes. While we are disappointed with the lack of communication and willingness of the HUUSD to work with our community, we don't feel that withdrawing from district at this time is the solution. There are other solutions to be looked at before spearheading the drastic measure of withdrawing. Please know that the Selectboard is not supporting this article.
