Parking Inventory, Analysis, & Management Plan Meeting

Past event
Jan 26, 2021, 6 to 8 PM

The City of Winooski is in the process of developing a parking inventory, analysis, and management plan. This work is being supported by, and funded through, the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission's (CCRPC) Unified Planning Work Program and the City of Winooski. The CCRPC has contracted with the firm RSG to conduct this work. The scope of work for this project includes a review of parking demand and supply within specific sections of the city; investigation and evaluation of various management strategies including enforcement, regulations, pay and fee structures, and metering options; and subsequent revisions to ordinances and the land development regulations.

This parking study has a specific focus on the current and future parking demands along the City's gateways including Main Street, East Allen Street, and Malletts Bay Avenue. This will include information on adjacent streets to evaluate potential pressure from the redevelopment of the gateways. The study area is intended to capture the areas of growing pressure between accommodating through traffic and accommodating the needs of the adjacent land use development. Including the City's gateways is the emphasis, while other facilities may receive varying degrees of attention within the study – drawing from previous work as much as possible.

As part of this effort, an Advisory Committee has been formed to provide support and guidance to the Technical Committee.

The first Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 26, 2021. This meeting will be conducted remotely via Zoom and begin at 6 PM.
