Partridge Thatcher Community Conversation

Past event
Dec 15, 2020, 7 to 8:30 PM

Did you know that Partridge Thatcher was a slaveholder? He is the namesake of Thatcher Brook and Thatcher Brook Primary School, but most people in our community are not aware that he enslaved several people. Let's come together to discuss how we, as individuals and as a community, react to this information.

This special session of Waterbury Library's Race Conversations will be co-hosted by the Waterbury Area Anti-Racism Coalition (WAARC) and Harwood High School students' Rooted Organizing Community (ROC) Racial Justice committee. The session will include small group discussions co-facilitated by community members and student leaders.

If you have questions please send them to waterburyantiracism@gmail.com.

We will share more information about the event and about Partridge Thatcher's history soon.
