Chris Major is a local forager, collector and appreciator of the natural world, beginning in childhood and becoming an actual hobby in the early 2000’s. Chris brings his knowledge of New England trees and plant life to every walk. Chris believes sights, sounds and smells of the outdoors work as meditation and quiet the anxious mind. His other interests include fishing, hiking and spending time with his family.
In addition to forging Chris is a Husband, Father and Director of Maintenance at the Residence at Shelburne Bay.
At the Bixby Library’s presentation, we will go over an introduction to mushroom foraging, including Morels, Chanterelle and Hen of the Woods. We’ll discuss where and when to find them and the trees they are associated with.
Register for the event on the Bixby website, or by contacting Ashley (see below).
