My name is Meg and I’m a local event planner who will be holding a street closing event on 1-54 State Street in Montpelier, Saturday, June 21, 2014, called the Montpelier Park in the Street. I’d love to meet with you, talk to you in more detail about the event and discuss how you can get involved!

The goal of the Montpelier Park in the Street is to become a signature event for our community that will enhance the downtown experience and showcase our local businesses and culture.

Fun, simple and unique, this event offers a refreshing new twist on a traditional, open-air, market-style event and will draw a large and diverse crowd to downtown Montpelier. The block will be transformed into a vibrant, urban, green space. The parking spots will be transformed into mini parks. Artists, greenery and seating will line the middle of the street and there will be live entertainment all day. This event will be a must-see for locals and tourists of all ages, and will redefine what it means to “Park in the Street.”

Very shortly we will start accepting applications from businesses interested in hosting parks. I have event packets available and you can find more information on our webpage: parkinthestreet.com. I will also be hanging out at the North Branch Cafe on State Street, Thursday, April 17 from 12:30-4:30pm for the specific reason to meet with anyone who'd like to learn more about the Montpelier Park in the Street.
