The Vermont Ski & Snowboard Museum is excited to bring you, Writers on the Red Bench, a new component of the Red Bench Speaker's Series. Kicking off the series TONIGHT is Maurice Isserman. Isserman, a historian at Hamilton College will discuss his book, Winter Army: The World War II Odyssey of the 10th Mountain Division, America's Elite Alpine Warriors. He will offer an illustrated talk on the 10th Mountain Division's creation, training, ties to Vermont, service on the Italian front, and post-war legacy. He is the author of two previous books on the history of Mountaineering, Fallen Giants, and Continental Divide.
Brian Lindner will facilitate the discussion. A native Vermonter and military historian, Lindner has been a member of the Mt. Mansfield Ski Patrol for 47 years.
