The response to my inquiry as to holding a plant swap was awesome. And what better time to have a plant swap then the same weekend as the HDAC Garden Tour weekend?! I've come up with a few guidelines and am receptive to any other thoughts potential participants would like to share. I will put bookcases/tables outside The Body Lounge where you can drop off donated plants and/or pick them up on Saturday and Sunday.
1) You can start donating plants on Friday, but please don't pick any up until Saturday and Sunday. You can also donate on those days and pick up new ones at the same time. Just leave them on the bookshelves outside the Body Lounge store.
2) You don't have to take a plant if you only wish to donate, and you don't have to donate if you want a couple free plants. I do ask that you only take as many as you donate (or a couple extra beyond that) or in the case of someone just wanting plants but having none to give, take no more than two. Free plants are awesome, but we need to share with everyone please.
3) PLEASE LABEL WHAT YOU ARE DONATING. Not all of us are versed in plant identification and it is a HUGE help to know what we are getting in that cute pot.
4) If you are looking for specific plants, let me know by Thursday and I will make a post requesting specific species and hope we might be able to make a match for you. I currently have a request for Lysimachia Clethroides (Gooseneck Loosestrife), so there's where we can start.
