How we can breathe easier and recycle more -- Why we should shut down the Hudson Falls trash incinerator now! Thurs., June 18, 7 – 8:30 pm on Zoom. A free talk by Paul Connett, Ph.D., chemistry professor emeritus and extraordinary global environmental health campaigner. Besides being extremely knowledgeable, Paul has a wicked sense of humor and is a terrific public speaker.

The trash incinerator in Hudson Falls is the worst air polluter in Warren and Washington Counties. Of the 73 trash incinerators operating in the U.S., it is the worst nationally for lead emissions and the third worst for mercury emissions (per ton of garbage burned). Both are neurotoxins. The incinerator also releases dioxins, an extremely toxic manmade substance best known as a contaminant of Agent Orange, which the U.S. used in the Vietnam War, resulting in generations of birth defects. Why are we allowing this incinerator to continue to poison our air and our soil?
