You're invited to a virtual travel slide talk on June 18 at 1:00. Deena Frankel will tell the story of a three-month, back-roads solo car trip around the US border states. The trip was a dividing line between a long career and retirement, and coincided with the loss of a parent. The 12,734-mile journey became both a personal quest and an exploration of the state of our nation. Join us for pictures and stories about the people and places around the US border, our language about ourselves as a nation, the freedom and challenges of solo travel as a woman in her 60s without a fixed itinerary, and the serendipity of taking a big leap before passing from one phase of life to the next.

Deena Frankel tells first-person, true stories at venues around New England including appearances on the Flynn main stage and at the Boston Women in Comedy Festival.
