Event: Jun 14, 2020, 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM

The Children's Room, in partnership with Maroni Minter and ACLU Vermont, welcome the Waterbury and greater community to join us in a rally against racism on Sunday at 4pm in Rusty Parker Park. Members of our community have recently spoken about their experiences with racism in our schools and within our community. The goals of this event are to:

1) Acknowledge that we hear our community members impacted by racism and police brutality.
2) Come together in solidarity with families and children of color.
3) Learn about what action steps we can take with the ACLU.

At the Children's Room, our call to action is to educate ourselves and work with our partners (schools, early care/learning providers, parents & families) to create learning opportunities and share resources, so we may all raise our children in a community committed to being anti-racist. We're gathering to stand in solidarity with the people of color in our community and to commit to taking action. Silence in the face of racism and white supremacy is deafening. Collectively, we have the opportunity and responsibility to be vocal advocates for justice in our state. We hope you will join us.
