This week on Relocalizing Vermont, activist and writer George Lakey will say why he sees the current wave of protests around the country as an organized campaign, distinct from one-off protests of recent decades.
9:00 - 10:00 am
George Lakey has been an activist and taught nonviolent civil disobedience since the 1950s. His latest book, How We Win, contains a lifetime of lessons for organizers of nonviolent direct action, like the current demonstrations around the world. He'll talk about the amount of vision and organizing that led to this moment, the challenges for organizers of using such a sudden outburst of energy for change, and results the movement is already showing.
