Westminster, Vermont is among the oldest towns chartered by colonial powers in Vermont. This small town was the site of two key events in Vermont's revolutionary history, "The Westminster Massacre" and the signing of the Vermont Constitution. Learn more about Westminster's Revolutionary past.

Westminster, Vermont, author Jessie Haas has written numerous acclaimed books for young people including Unbroken, which was a Publishers Weekly Best Book, a School Library Journal Best Book, a Parent's Choice Gold Award winner, a Notable Trade Book in the Field of Social Studies, and CCBC Choice. One of her recent novels, Shaper, won a Golden Kite Honor Award
