This Friday, March 13 at 7:00, the comedy HAPPY, TEXAS will close out the comedy series at the Maple Corner Community Club. Mark Illsley's 1999 film disappeared shortly after opening, but has had a successful second life on video and DVD. Jeremy Northam and Steve Zahm play bank robbers who escape from prison and stumble into the tiny Texas Panhandle town of Happy, where they are mistaken for the gay couple who were scheduled to help plan the town's child beauty pageant. Roger Ebert said, "It's a comedy with boundless good nature that simply lets us share vast amusement." Rick Winston will introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards; admission is by donation.
