Stand Up for Science Rally - March 7 in Burlington

With recent budget cuts and firings at the NSF, NIH, NOAA, and the NWS, a clear message has been sent that science is under attack in this country. We cannot be silent in this moment. We all remember the flooding events across our state these past two summers. Our local NWS Burlington Office played a critical role in forecasting and communicating the impacts to Vermonters. We cannot deplete the NWS and other scientific agencies of necessary resources and staffing. The consequences will be dire - numerous lives will be lost.

Please join us in Burlington this Friday as part of a nationwide "Stand Up for Science" rally. Below is more details about the event:

The march will take place on public sidewalks in two 1-hour loops.

LOOP 1:
12pm: Meet at University Green (near Prospect St. and College St.)
Walk down College St. to Church St. (~20 mins)
Walk down Church St. to Pearl St. (~20 mins)
Walk up Pearl St. back to University Green (~20 mins)

LOOP 2:
1pm: Meet at University Green (near Prospect St. and College St.)
Walk down Main St. to City Hall (~20 mins)
Loop around City Hall Park (~20 mins)
Walk up College St. back to University Green (~20 mins)
