VPT Community Cinema film "The Opiate Effect"
Short film and discussion to explore the dangers of opiate and heroin addiction in Vermont, and hear about the Hub and Spoke model for treatment and recovery we have in our area.

A UVM student died from an overdose of heroin in 2009. His father began a journey to educate people of the harm not only from the drug, but how we are dealing with the problem. It references many of our local organizations, including The Howard Center, Senator Leahy, and VT U.S. Attorney Tristram Coffin. Co-sponsored by Vermont Public Television and Independent Lens, and resources available through Central VT New Directions, Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition.
