Past event
Feb 29, 2020, 9 to 11:30 AM

Do you know your shrubs and trees in winter? Join SHLT staff Guy Maguire in a hands-on exploration and learn the basics of plant ID outside of the growing season. As a home gardener, landscaper, forest landowner, or simply a plant enthusiast, winter botany can be a useful skill in helping you know your plants year round. And, distinguishing plants in winter gives you more opportunities to appreciate and another reason to get outside and active during winter, a season very easy to spend indoors.

This workshop is free and open to all. We will start with an indoor activity and go over winter botany basics for beginners, then go outside to test our new skills. Geared towards adult learners but nature-enthused kids welcome as well, accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out. Learn more at www.shlt.org/events. Limited to 15 participants. Email guy@shlt.org to RSVP.
