Practice Session: Interrupting Hate and Addressing Unintended Bias will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9th from 1:15-3:15pm in the Vestry (accessible) of the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, 130 Main St.
Have you ever wished you knew how to respond better to racist comments and jokes? Or remained quiet, but wished you had spoken up? Join Central Vermont Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ) to practice responding to such situations. SURJ is collaborating with the Unitarian Church Of Montpelier to offer several practice sessions to the Central VT community during the winter months.
You can apply what you learn to respond better to all kinds of biased remarks, not just on race. The free sessions are open to everyone, and no experience is needed. Interested middle school age youth and older would get a lot out of it, not just adults. Lite refreshments provided. Questions? Call 223.7861 ext. 2 .
