You may be familiar with the VTDigger report from 11/26/19 of Enrique Balcazar who was working for less than $4 an hour at a dairy that could not provide him with gloves to protect his burning hands from iodine. There are other reports of dairy workers living in substandard conditions, without proper heat. On Monday, February 3 at 5.30 pm, the Council of the Hunger Mountain Coop will consider a resolution to ensure that the dairy products on offer at the store do not violate basic standards that members expect from a coop. The council will hear first hand reports from Madeline Sharron and Marita Canedo from the Milk with Dignity program.

There is limited seating but we would like to hear from you. Please note the resolution before the Council failed its first reading and is not guaranteed.
