The Dance Factory presents a fully costumed production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker on Saturday, December 14th at 7pm and Sunday, December 15th at 2pm. Tickets are $13 for adults and $8 for students and can be purchased at Tina's Hallmark and Woodbury's Florist in Springfield, at Sage Jewelry and Gifts on the Green in Chester, and at the door. Both performances are at Springfield High School and will benefit the Springfield High School Drama Club. The studio has raised over $30,000 the past 35 years to support arts and drama programs at our local schools as well as Habitat for Humanity.

Please join us for this beautiful classical ballet featuring young dancers from all over southern Vermont and New Hampshire. The Nutcracker tells the story of young Clara Staulbaum and the magical Nutcracker she is given from her Uncle Drosselmeyer. The Dance Factory's production features dancing dolls, a fierce duel between the Mouse King and the Nutcracker Prince, a glorious scene of dancing snowflakes led by the Snow Queen, a visit to the Kingdom of Sweets with character dancers representing many treats, and a magical Sugar Plum Fairy.

Students dance all the rolls in The Dance Factory's production of The Nutcracker, including the principal roles of the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Snow Queen. Many dancers begin in Mother Goose and continue performing in various roles throughout their childhood. This will be the 27th year The Dance Factory has presented The Nutcracker. Originally choreographed by Susan Hagan, this year's production is directed by Ashley Hensel-Browning and will feature new and old choreography from productions past. Do not miss this magical production!

The Dance Factory is a vibrant, inclusive dance studio conveniently located in downtown Springfield. Celebrating its 35th anniversary season this year, the studio boasts five experienced teachers and offers classes in ballet, pointe, modern, jazz, hip hop, tap, and creative movement for preschoolers through adults. We emphasize quality technical training while encouraging a love and passion for movement and cultivating community.
