Millions of students and workers around the world are screaming for those in power to take notice. Individuals and businesses are reducing our emissions, but we cannot resolve the climate crisis without leadership from lawmakers. Policy change is crucial to reverse the detrimental effects of climate change. Burton is joining the Global Climate Strike to demand a fast and fair transition to a clean energy economy. On September 20, we will be closed for business and open for action.
Join us at Burton Headquarters (180 Queen City Park Road) on Friday, September 20 starting at 10:00am for sign making and policy action. Materials, bagels, and coffee will be provided! At 11:00am we will walk (bike, bus, etc.) out from headquarters down Pine Street, converging with a marching band and other groups as we approach City Hall for the Burlington Climate Rally at 12:00pm.
Our downtown College Street store will also be open, before the rally for sign making and post rally for policy action and as a community gathering space.
We hope that you will join us! For more information: https://burtonburlingtonclimatestrike.splashthat.com/
