We believe it is important for all of us to take action at this time. Students around the world have gone on strike for the climate, targeting decades of government inaction and corporate irresponsibility. On September 20th workers will join them.

We recognize we're at the beginning of a process, and that strikes like the recent and successful teachers walk outs may or may not be a timely option in your workplace. But there are many other possibilities for collective action. We can start with talking with coworkers. People can take the whole day, or part of the day as leave, join the large noon rally for the climate in Burlington, do a picket line before work, develop a green demand for your workplace, wear green shirts, or organize a meeting on responding to the climate crisis. There are many possibilities.

Working together to organize can also be a transformative experience. Collective organizing is essential if we are to break millions of people from the feeling that the climate crisis and other problems are so overwhelming that we might as well ignore it.
