The Jericho Underhill Land Trust is pleased to announce a special winter walk!
Bark, Buds, and Branches: the Winter Trees of Mills Riverside Park
Saturday, March 15 (March 22, in case of extreme weather)
10:00 a.m. – 12 noon
When the leaves are on the ground and branches are bare, how do we recognize the familiar trees in the woods around us? Join long-time UVM botanists Cathy Paris and Dave Barrington for a ramble through the winter woods of Mills Riverside Park and learn to identify a dozen common trees in the winter condition.
Cathy and Dave ask that you meet them at the Pavilion at 10 a.m. for a brief introduction to the trip; we'll then set off on a ramble around the West Fieldstone Loop. Dress to stay warm and dry and bring a small magnifying glass, if you have one. This all-ages event, sponsored by the Jericho Underhill Land Trust, is free and open to the public. Dress warmly.
Please contact the land trust with any questions at 802-899-2693 or julandtrust@gmail.com.
