City Council Meeting Agenda and Dogs!

Past event
Aug 28, 2019, 6:30 to 9:30 PM

Hi neighbors! I must preface this post by saying that I love ALL creatures great and small, from the tardigrade to the tabby cat to the tapir. However, yesterday was National Dog Day and that is what I will talk about! (Feel free to ignore and scroll down to the agenda). Some of you might be saying to yourselves "Every day is dog day! Woohoo!" Others might be saying "Dog people are so annoying." I fall into the category of "tears are streaming down my face because I am so happy to be sharing the earth with these divine beasts." Just last week the Central Vermont Humane Society hosted their annual "Dog Day at the Pool" at our very Montpelier pool. For those who don't know about this miraculous event/CVHS fundraiser, when the pool season ends dogs are invited (with their human relatives, of course) to take part in their very own aquatic adventure. Friends, I simply cannot put into words the utter joy that comes from being a witness to our resident dogs running and swimming free. (I understand that for those that are afraid of or don't like dogs, they would have a different experience.) I go every year, even though I no longer have a dog. No, that isn't weird, thank you very much. I'm grateful to the CVHS for all that they do, for our Recreation Department for holding this event, for their awesome resource that is the Montpelier pool, and for the rec. staff who work to ensure a fun and safe summer for us all. And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...the City Council meeting agenda!
