The Friends of the Middletown Springs Public Library is hosting a Batik and Sip event Saturday, August 24 at 6pm at the Middletown Springs Historical Society! Jen Dattoli will teach the group 2 forms of batik combined with the Japanese shabori method. Pre-registration by August 19 is required, and can be done at the library. Appetizers will be provided. BYOB. Adults only, please. $25 to Batik a set of 4 cloth napkins, or $30 to do a set of 8. Participants can also bring an item no larger than a t-shirt to batik in addition to the napkins, but these items must be delivered to the library by August 20 for pre-treatment.
