2nd Bike Instead of Drive Event

Past event
Jul 21, 2019, 2 to 4 PM

Date: Sunday, 7/21

Time: 2:00 PM

Place: Montpelier High School, rear parking lot

Round trip distance: twenty miles, mostly flat

Montpelier Mayor Anne Watson, ex Mayor Mary Hooper and thirteen others attended our first bike ride 7/14/19. At its end everyone I asked said not only that they'd like to continue trips on a regular basis but they'd prefer once per week to the bi-weekly or monthly options I suggested.

So this Sunday (7/21) we'll begin on the same back road as last week but will turn left instead of right at its end onto a wide, well paved road with minimal traffic and a spacious bike shoulder to the Moretown General Store. There pizza, sandwiches and salads can be purchased or you can bring your own to enjoy on tables and chairs on their front porch.

Thanks again to the Onion River Outdoors shop for donating and installing flashing bike lights before our inaugural ride last week, also the Red Hen Cafe for their bike hats (very popular) and Hunger Mountain for the bananas and protein bars. They disappeared rather quickly.

Thinking of driving a little less while getting some exercise? Join us!
