Race Conversations

Jul 23, 2019, 6:30 to 7:30 PM

"Race Conversations", the monthly group of folks talking about some tough issues of race normally meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month. For July, we will be meeting on the 4th Tuesday on July 23rd from 6:30-7:30 in the Waterbury Library's SAL room. All members of the community are welcome to join in the dialogue. What exactly is racism? We will be looking at that question at our next meeting. The group is reading one chapter per month from Ijeoma Oluo's book, "So you want to talk about race?" as the text for the basis of discussion. Participants can order a copy of Oluo's book through the library's Inter-Library loan or purchase their own copy from Bridgeside Books at a 15% discount. We are currently on Chapter 2 "What is Racism?" Hope to see you at our next gathering.
