The League of Women Voters of Vermont, in partnership with Kellogg-Hubbard Library, presents the fourth in its 2024-25 Lecture Series on Recent Supreme Court Decisions. This season we look at potential impacts of five important decisions issued since 2022.
The fourth program, on Wednesday, February 12 at 7:00 pm, presents Rep. Rebecca Holcombe and Harrison Stark, senior staff attorney at ACLU Vermont.
They will discuss the June, 2022 Supreme Court decision that Maine's "nonsectarian" requirement for the otherwise generally available tuition assistance payments violates the Free Exercise Clause, thus requiring public funding for religious schools. This program will be moderated by Middlesex town Moderator Susan Clark.
The League of Women Voters of Vermont Lecture Series, in its ninth season, is designed to bring outstanding speakers to discuss contemporary issues related to democracy and social justice.
This will be a virtual presentation. You may send questions in advance to league@lwvofvt.org, or through Chat during the event.
