On June 23 at 10 am, the congregational churches of Wells River and Newbury will hold a special joint service honoring the Civil Rights Movement as a tie-in with the Vermont READS program. Each year the VT Humanities Council chooses a book of broad and timely interest for community-wide reading & discussion. This year's book is the autobiographical graphic novel "March" by Congressman John Lewis, an important civil rights leader. Multiple copies of the book are available at the church (76 N. Main, Wells River) and at the Baldwin and Tenney Libraries.
