At June's Memorable Times Cafe a guest from the collections team at Vermont Historical Society will be bringing some artifacts related to the history of dairy farming/production and agriculture, such as:

-Butter working paddle or spade
-Waxed cream bottle cap
-Granite City (Barre) ice cream carton
-Glass Booth Brothers quart bottle
-Booth Brothers insulated milk box used in home delivery
-Apple picker. Smallish cage-like device on the end of a long wooden handle

We love the stories that arise from reminiscence and comfortable company! Come share with us!

Memorable Times Café is a relaxed social time for people living with mild to moderate memory loss, and their care partners. A dementia-friendly community event, it is free and open to the public. Cafés are held on the third Wednesday of each month, from 1:30 to 3 PM, in the Community Room at the Vermont History Center, 60 Washington Street, in Barre. Memorable Times Café is sponsored by the Central Vermont Council on Aging in partnership with the ABLE Library of the Vermont Department of Libraries and area volunteers.

Participants enjoy social time and refreshments, as well as opportunities to share stories, music, movement and laughter. ABLE Library staff are available to facilitate access to "talking books" and other resources.

Please note that the Memory Café is not a drop-off or adult day care program. Each participant is expected to be accompanied by a care partner.
