The Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District is holding its last local free compost basics workshop this Saturday, June 1, at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center at 58 Barre Street.

Join us whether you've never composted before, or would like to fix a few problems in your current system. You'll learn how to get started composting and do it successfully, and we'll review other ways to keep your food scraps out of the trash. You'll learn strategies for jump-starting an old pile, and how to keep smells down, and animals out. Everyone goes home with a starter kit. Soil Saver Composters and Green Cones will be available for workshop participants at discounted rates ($35 Soil Savers available to compost participants, $90 Green Cones - these prices are only available to participants of CVSWMD compost workshops).
