Scrag Mountain Music Concerts

May is National Chamber Music month and what better way to celebrate than with a program that features a rich and beautiful String Sextet!

You know your Mom or wife really wants to do this!!!! Go to Warren for the 4 pm concert on Sunday and then take her out to dinner!!

Johannes Brahms wrote his first sextet in 1860 and composed only one other sextet during his lifetime. The piece is scored for 2 violins, 2 violas, and 2 cellos - although Scrag's version will feature Evan performing the traditional 2nd cello part on double bass! Other composers who have embraced this special instrumental combination include Luigi Boccherini, Antonín Dvořák, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and Arnold Schoenberg.
