Grand Isle School invites the island community to a FREE Community Swing Dance on Wed. March 26 from 6:30-8:30 pm at the school gym. The dance features live music by Joe’s Big Band, an 18-piece ensemble of jazz musicians who have recently completed a six-year stint playing weekly dinner cruises on the Spirit of Ethan Allen III. Their repertoire spans from swing and jazz standards made famous by artists like Count Basie, Glenn Miller, and Duke Ellington, to the music of Earth, Wind and Fire, James Brown, Santana, and other more contemporary artists.

Grand Isle students have been studying about the Big Band era in Music, Art and Physical Education classes. This event is a celebration of all they’ve learned. Please join them as they “Swing the Night Away!” The PTA will be selling
Swingin’ Sundaes, popcorn and beverages.
