Green Up Day in Warren

Saturday May 4th is Vermont's Annual Green Up Day. For Warren residents, the place to get Green Up Day trash bags is the East Warren Community Market. It may be the only place in Warren with bags. I checked around today & I did not find any other place in Warren with the bags. Good news: They have plenty of bags. The EWCM is also the drop off point for green bags once filled. Also you can bring anything else to the drop off location including tires & big stuff that people dumped on the roadside in the past 12 months. I believe you can also bring filled green trash bags to the transfer station along with tires. There should be NO CHARGE for this on Saturday May 4th. The Rotary is doing a special project on Rt. 100 cleaning up one of the last of the large, visible dump sites along the Rt. 100 corridor. Thank you Rotary! I have been cleaning up in & around Warren Village every day for the last 2 months. I need help with one section that I cannot reach. The uncleaned section is from the south entrance of Warren Village to the north entrance staying on Rt 100 in the northbound lane. I can clean up the shoulder & a few yards in but then there is a steep drop off. I can see lots of cans & bottles that would require climbing down the embankment. Maybe I can climb down but I doubt that I am nimble enough to climb back up. A couple of Harwood athletes could handle it, no problem. Any volunteers can join me Saturday morning starting around 9:30AM. I will have some extra green bags with me or bring your own. Thank you. Carl Lobel
