Past event
May 8, 2019, 7 to 8 PM

If you've wanted to try running but wasn't sure how to get started, Becky Widschwenter and Alysia Backman will be discussing running 101 basics at the Waterbury Library on Wednesday, May 8th from 7-8 to help you get started. This workshop is for those who identify as women and are interested in running.

Just in time for the summer season and the race schedule, these two runners will share training basics, healthy meal and snack ideas, hydration-habit hacks, and other variables that impact women runners. Becky Widschwenter has been running for many years and testifies to the power of a consistent running routine. It can help maintain a healthy weight, increase bone density, improve cardiovascular health, and reduce stress and anxiety. She also enjoys running with other women as a social experience, bringing mental health into the picture.
