Mar 18, 2014, 2:15 to 8:30 PM

On March 18th all members of the Vergennes community are invited to participate in a series of forums on Vergennes Community Visit Day to be held at the Bixby Memorial Library and the Vergennes Opera House. This first event in a 3-month process of addressing important challenges before Vergennes and building priorities for action will include focus forum discussions and a free community dinner at St. Peters Church. The Vermont Council on Rural Development will bring a 30+ person team of federal, state, business and non-profit leaders who will participate in sessions throughout the afternoon and evening and join community members at the free community dinner. The forum sessions for discussion will include: Municipal & Non-Profit Resources; Tourism; Recreation & Entertainment; Role of Municipal Government; Basin & Riverside Development; Connecting Youth; Transportation Infrastructure & Pedestrian Safety; The Future of Economic Development; and Vergennes Community Center. All members of the Vergennes community are invited and encouraged to join the discussion. Come to one or more sessions and join us at the free community dinner at 5:45 at St. Peters Church.
