Please join us for this exciting concert at the Plainfield Opera House: Scrag Mountain Music co-directors, Mary Bonhag and Evan Premo will join forces with Annemieke Spoelstra McLane and Jeremiah McLane to present an eclectic concert of music inspired by Parisian Salons and Cafes.
About the program Bonhag said, "Evan, Annemieke, Jeremiah, and I have been meeting and rehearsing and…the program has turned out to be transporting us to Parisian salons and cafés." The program includes a wide variety of styles and genres.
The two dynamic musical couples, well known throughout Vermont and beyond, will present music by Fauré, Debussy, Couperin, Balch, Proto & others.
Katherine Balch is a young, contemporary composer who has written for voice and bass — perfect for this performance. Frank Proto (b. 1941) is a composer and double bassist. The concert will also include a suite of Renaissance dances and a set of music from Parisian Cafes.
Truly a one of a kind concert not to be missed!
