Pierce's Store is having a Bordeaux wine tasting Friday March 14th from 5pm to 7pm (or whenever the wine runs out). Pierce’s was able to snag some great deals on some excellent ‘petit chateaux’ thanks to the wine négociant of one of its distributors.

The tasting will feature Chateau Saint-Germain 2010 Bordeaux ($11.75 per bottle), a terrific value for very drinkable vintage Bordeaux. We will also be tasting Chateau Bois Tiffray Lussac 2010 Saint Emilion ($16.60 per bottle), a Merlot-centered Bordeaux, and Château Listran "Cuvée Prestige" 2009 Medoc (also $16.60 per bottle), a Cabernet-oriented Bordeaux. Two superb wines from the same appellation, yet very different.

2009 and 2010 were excellent vintage years, and the successive seasons have been busts so if you like your claret, the time to stock up is now.
