Hi neighbors! It's the second week of the month which means we have a City Council meeting this Wednesday. It's also the first meeting with our brand new District 1 City Councilor, Lauren Hierl! Welcome aboard, Lauren! This is a particularly special meeting because it is the first one post-election. At these meetings, since we often have new City Councilors, we give an orientation and review the ins and outs of Council meetings, the role of City Councilors and Mayor, review our ethics policy, elect City Council officers, go over open meeting laws and more. By the way, I'm currently thinking of ways to turn it into a Schoolhouse Rock musical. Perhaps I can convince Bill to get his band back together to do the score! I'll keep you updated. So, if you want a primer on City Council, the meetings, what they do, etc., stop by this Wednesday at 6:30 PM! If you can't make it, get in your pajamas and watch online (our website or ORCA's YouTube channel) or on channel 17. Check out the agenda below, along with a link to the supporting documents.
