Trauma comes in lots of different forms and often disrupts normal child development. The Stern Center offers a new course, Supporting Children Through Trauma, Poverty and Adversity starting 11/27/18 to help educators and other caregivers define, identify and understand poverty-related stress and its impact on childhood development and brain function. Having a trauma-informed treatment plan leads to positive outcomes for kids as well as the adults who care for them. This 3-credit course costs $850, meets on Tuesdays until January 22, then takes a break and resumes in May until 5/21/19.
