Walling Workshop Saturday, Oct. 6th 9am-5pm in Barre

On Saturday, October 6th, The Stone Trust, Vermont Granite Museum, and Trow & Holden Company will be partnering to host a 1-day instructional dry stone walling day in Barre, VT.

The event will be held at the Vermont Granite Museum in Barre from 9am to 5pm, and will offer registered participants the perfect opportunity to receive hands-on instruction from certified wallers on the basics of building traditional, long lasting, and beautiful dry laid stone walls! No tools or stone working experience required!

This instructional event is being facilitated by The Stone Trust, a registered nonprofit committed to providing dry stone walling education and training based on the internationally recognized standards established by the Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain.

The lead instructor of this event, Brian Post, is one of a handful of wallers in North America who has earned a Master Craftsmen level certification from the DSWA. One of his projects was just featured in Seven Days this week! The event will be co-instructed by Jordan Keyes (Trow & Holden Company) and Alex Hoffmeier (Ecolibrium, LLC), both certified instructors and Level II DSWA certified wallers.

Even more exciting is the fact that this workshop will be advancing the continued rehabilitation of one of central Vermont's historic properties, and laying the groundwork for future walling events to be hosted in Barre!

In a concerted effort to make this initial walling event an even greater value for registered participants, the standard registration fee has been offset by all three host organizations -- reducing the cost of registration to $100.

Registration is required with only 20 participant spots available! For more information about the event and to register, visit the event overview or sign-up page at TheStoneTrust.org.
