o celebrate its fortieth anniversary year, Montpelier's Onion River Chorus invites you to a Gala concert, reception and silent auction on Saturday, September 29, at 7:30 pm at the Unitarian Church of Montpelier, 130 Main Street. Admission is $40, and all proceeds will go to supporting the chorus's ambitious 40th Anniversary program in December. Tickets can be purchased before the concert at Bagitos in Montpelier, from Onion River Chorus singers, or call 802-552-0105, and they will be sold at the door. The Gala concert will feature vocal soloists and instrumentalists who have joined the Onion River Chorus in many of our concerts. Highlights include solos and duets by Monteverdi, sung by Sophie Michaux and Lindsey Warren, and Monteverdi's dramatic "Altri Canti di Marte", in which they will be joined by Carolyn Dickinson, Adam Jacob Simon, Wheaton Squire, Larry Gordon, and instrumentalists. Baroque works by Telemann and Boismortier will be performed by the Cameo Baroque ensemble, Corsican and South African songs by the Northern Harmony nonet, and two Monteverdi madrigals by members of the Onion River Chorus led by Michaux. A reception with many delicious Desserts will follow the concert, together with the opportunity to bid on the assortment of ravishing, fun, and irresistible items in the Silent Auction.
