Wetlands of Vermont & Wetlands of Woodbury

Past event
Oct 24, 2018, 6:30 PM

On October 24, at 6:30pm, Liz Thompson offers a tour of wetland natural communities found throughout Vermont, and highlights some found in Woodbury. Enjoy a slide show of bogs, fens, floodplain forests, and the amazing plants found in these wetlands.

An ecologist with the Vermont Land Trust, Thompson has contributed to the understanding of Vermont's ecology through her work with natural communities — groups of trees, wildflowers, mosses, fungi and other life forms naturally occurring within a single environment. She is a co-author with Eric Sorenson of Wetland, Woodland, Wildland: A Guide to the Natural Communities of Vermont -- an important botany resource.

Meteorologist Steve Maleski from the Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium gives a presentation about climate change on Wednesday, November 7, at 6:30pm.

All are welcome. The Woodbury Community Library is located in Woodbury Village, on Route 14, behind the Elementary School. Info: woodburyvermontlibrary@gmail.com or 279-9266.
