VT Holocaust Memorial Speakers

Past event
Sep 17, 2018, 6 to 7:30 PM

Monday, September 17th at 6pm, Hyde Park's Lanpher Memorial Library is pleased to be sharing an evening with speakers from the Vermont Holocaust Memorial (VTHM) who will be discussing the importance of history in promoting tolerance and respect.

VTHM offers educator workshops; a "Leaf Project" which helps students and the public realize the enormity of the 1.5 million children killed during The Holocaust by using the analogy of a tree; and their speaker's bureau consisting of children of Holocaust survivors who share family legacies to promote respect, compassion and understanding at schools, libraries and other organizations. VTHM founders Miriam Rosenbloom and Debora Steinerman will be the speakers in Hyde Park sharing their family accounts of struggle through The Holocaust.

Lanpher Memorial Library is proud to be carrying forward the important lessons learned from The Holocaust. Knowledge is the most powerful tool in the fight against ignorance, intolerance and fear. By sharing stories of survival, and teaching their invaluable lessons, the Vermont Holocaust Memorial (a 501c3 charitable organization) envisions a time when prejudice, bigotry and hate are replaced by respect for all. Additional information can be found on the VTHM website: www.holocaustmemorial-vt.org

This presentation is free and open to the public.
Lanpher Memorial Library is located at 141 Main Street, in Hyde Park.
