Do you like to listen to live stories, like the Moth Story Hour? Come to the VYCC West Monitor Barn on Rte 2 in Richmond and hear veteran Vermont storytellers will come together to entertain in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Our Community Cares Camp. After a light meal prepared by the Richmond Community Kitchen with locally sourced foods from the Farm at VYCC and beer and wine from the Stone Corral and Huntington Vineyards, celebrants will listen to four award winning story Vermont story tellers, including Mark Redmond, Bill Torrey, Samara Anderson and Peter Burns. The evening will conclude with 10th anniversary Birthday cake prepared by Sweet Simones.
Our Community Cares Camp (OCCC) is a not-for-profit summer food service and enrichment day camp serving the children of Chittenden East. OCCC addresses three issues, including food insecurity, the achievement gap and the opportunity gap and provides work training opportunities to local teens and quality summer jobs to high school and college students as well as adults.
