Angela Patten will be reading from her writings
here in Calais at the Old West Church

along with author Burr Morse
for the kick-off reading
in this year's WORDS OUT LOUD reading series.

Angela Patten is the author of three poetry collections, "In Praise of Usefulness," "Reliquaries," and "Still Listening," as well as a prose memoir, "High Tea at a Low Table: Stories from an Irish Childhood." Winner of the 2016 National Poetry Prize from the Cape Cod Cultural Center, Angela Patten has had work published in a variety of literary journals. Born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, she now lives in Burlington, Vermont, where she is a Senior Lecturer in English at the University of Vermont.

We look forward to welcoming Angela Patten to our neck of the woods and having her share the afternoon hour with Burr Morse on September 16. Come listen to the local, the lyrical, and the long-distance stories told by these two authors through poetry & prose.
