Come join Mayor Miro Weinberger and Cindi Wight, head of Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront, in celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Joseph Lechnyr Band Shell in Battery Park. Guest Conductors, who previously have been the Conductors of the Band, will be conducting on this concert: William Moulton, 1968-1972, Matt Tatro, 1998-2002-(also the 40th Army Band Conductor), and Steve Sawyer, 2003-2008. They will join Conductor Larry Solt in a musical tribute to Dr. Lechnyr's term, 1921-1957 as Conductor of the Band, as well as many musical groups including the UVM ROTC Band and Cathedral High School Band. The Band Shell was dedicated in 1978. Listeners should bring their own seating and be prepared to tap their toes along with the spirited instrumental selections.
