Mauritanian Dinner and Concert

Past event

Last year during a trip to Montreal, the Mauritanian musician Daby Touré (http://www.cumbancha.com/dabytoure) invited us to meet him at a wonderful restaurant called La Khaïma (http://www.lakhaima.ca). There, we were introduced to chef and owner Atigh Ould, and we were blown away by his charm, hospitality and positive spirit. Just a few weeks later, we were happy to see an article in Seven Days about Atigh and his very special restaurant: http://bit.ly/LaKhaimaReview.

We have invited Atigh and Daby to come to Vermont for an evening of Northwest African food and music in the fields around our home in East Charlotte. Atigh will be preparing a communal meal in the traditional style of Mauritania's nomadic cultures and Daby will be giving an intimate performance with our barn as a backdrop.

We are selling a limited number of tickets so we can pay Atigh and Daby for their time and travel.

You can buy tickets and get more information about the event at http://bit.ly/mauritaniandinner.

It should be a fantastic night and we'd love to see you there!
