Bread and Roses, Too/Labor Song Sing-Along

Past event
Aug 5, 2018, 7 to 8:30 PM

This coming Sunday, August 5, 7 pm at the Craftsbury Library, there will be a discussion led by Chris McDonnell of the book Bread and Roses, Too. Given that the theme revolves around the unfair labor practices, and the ensuing protests, in the textile mills in Lawrence, Mass, in 1912, I will be presenting a number of labor songs - with my usual invitation to sing along - that complement and expand the theme of labor protests. Jamie Milholland will join me on guitar, and it'd be great to be joined by anyone else who would like to play along! I'll bring song books for anyone who might want to stay on afterwards to continue singing.

The book is a fast read, and copies are still available at the front desk of the Library.
