It's that time of year again! Norwich University has one of the state's two carillons. The largest instrument in the world, of the 47 bells that makes up the carillon at Norwich the largest weighs 3500 pounds. At the conclusion of each concert the bell tower opens up for tours.
Bring a picnic and a lawn chair to the Upper Parade Ground on the beautiful campus of Norwich University in Northfield and enjoy free outdoor concerts performed on the Charlotte Nichols Greene Memorial Carillon.
Concerts are held rain or shine on five consecutive Saturdays from July 7 to August 4. All concerts begin at 1 p.m. and last about an hour. Programs feature a variety of classical, folk, traditional, Broadway, and contemporary music arranged specifically for carillon.
These outdoor recitals are open to everyone, parking is free and handicapped accessible, and there is never an admission fee. Come on out and enjoy!
